April 30, 2018A Day Worth Celebrating  So today might seem like a normal day to most people... but not to me. Because I knew what it really was... the last day of April! And also there are only 23 more days of school and I'm so excited for summer. Anyway, I got up this morning, then said goodbye to Mom as she left for work, and slowly got ready for the day. I played piano for awhile, and ended up learning how to play the keyboard part of Do It Again by Elevation Worship, as it had been stuck in my head for awhile. I did a bunch of math assignments, and then went to class, where there were some technically difficulties, which my teacher blamed on the new Gmail update, which is amazing by the way. I made myself some egg-salad sandwiches for lunch, and then messed around some more before getting ready to go to work. I took off to work at 3:30, and then I had to work till 7. When I got home, Mom had already gone to bed and Dad was outside playing with the animals. I went and finished m…

April 29, 2018 Sunday Funday I woke up this morning, and almost wanted to go back to sleep (by almost I mean I really wanted to) but I had to get up instead. I took a shower, and then Mom had made waffles for breakfast since Matthew was here, and so we had those for breakfast. We took off to church as soon as Dad got home from work, as he had worked overnight. Matthew and I led worship in church, and we needed to practice that before Sunday school, and then we had Sunday school and church. After church, we came home (it had gotten a little late because I had to talk to Rhonda about VBS for awhile) and we just had leftovers for lunch. I played on my phone for awhile, then read chapter 4 of Crazy Love by Francis Chan, so that I'd be refreshed before my youth Bible study tonight. I left for that around 5:40 on the scooter, and it was really hard driving into the wind. I finally got there, and was very happy to find that Caleb had made two pizzas, one which was chicken alfredo and the …

April 28, 2018 Grandma's Birthday I slept into about 9:30 this morning, and when I woke up, I went downstairs, and there was no one in the house, and so my first thought was, "Did I miss the rapture??" Then I was trying to figure out why I missed the rapture, and I figured that it was probably because I wasn't wearing a shirt. I later found out that everyone was at Grandpa and Nana's or still in bed, but I didn't realize that. Anyway, we got ready to go, and then left at 11pm for Brainerd to have lunch with Grandpa and Grandma, because it was Grandma's birthday. Mom and Dad made me drive, so I did that on the way there, and then on the way back as well. Anyway, we got there around 12:40, and went to the Mexican restaurant next to the Taco Bell. I had 3 chicken tacos (should have had the beef) and they were alright. We stayed and talked with Grandpa and Grandma for a long time, and then we left and got back to our house around 3:50pm. I layed around for awh…

April 27, 2018 College is Done. There are 20-some days left of normal public school, but because I have my college class, I have greatly been looking forward to it, so that I could be done and only have my regular schooling. Well, today I took my final test in Personal Finance, passed with a 13/15, and ended up getting almost 84% in the class overall! Mom and Dad said I could get my drivers license as long as I got a B or better in the class, so I guess I'll be hitting the road this summer! Other than that, today was pretty slow and average. I finished my school work, and then Jeremy and Co. stopped by during lunch time. I built more Lego creations with Steven, and then went to work at 3:30, stopping at the gas station on the way to fuel up the scooter. Some people were staring at me while I fueled up, because I spent about 10 minutes trying to figure out which type of gas I was supposed to put in the tank. I eventually made it to work, which seemed to be like the slowest 3 hours o…

April 26, 2018 The Lake is COLD  I got up this morning, but Dad was already gone to his early morning Bible study and Tevia had left for school. I rolled out of bed, slowly but surely, and discovered that leaving your window open all night makes it very cold in the morning. I threw on a shirt and wandered downstairs. After awhile, Dad called saying that he was going to pick us up soon, but I hadn't even started packing my gear, so I told him I'd take the scooter instead. I brushed my teeth and washed my face and etc, and then I threw my laptop and camera in my [super awesome] backpack and took off, with the scooter only stalling once because of the cold. I obviously didn't learn my lesson, waking up to the cold, because I wore shorts and a tshirt, and going 50mph it can be a little chilly at 45 degrees. I got over to Grandpa and Nana's, where I worked on various English assignments for a while, and then had lunch. After lunch, Grandpa took Jana to her painting lesson, a…

April 25, 2018 I'm becoming a tall Hobbit... So today was pretty normal; Mom was already gone (tomorrow is her last day for awhile) and Tevia went to school and Dad was up and getting us all up, and so I wandered downstairs and had pancakes, and then shaved and took a shower. I went down to the basement and worked on school for awhile, long enough for me to get caught up for the day. I went back upstairs and hung around for awhile, put in a load of laundry and practiced guitar... I practiced guitar a LOT today. Both my acoustic and electric guitar, and I don't usually play my electric but Caleb is pretty excited for the youth worship band for youth group, and he thinks I should play electric guitar. I finally figured out the lead rhythm part for So Will I (100 Billion X) by Hillsong, and speaking of music, my current favorite song is Gravity by Landry Cantrell. After a lunch of leftovers (and some of Jana's Chinese food from her trip with Nana) I cleaned my room, and then a…

April 24, 2018Track Meet Mom left at like 5:30 for work, Dad was working all night and didn't get off until like 9am, and Tevia was at school, so it was just Jana and me at home. I probably would have slept in except our school advisor wanted to talk to us on the phone early today, as she was at her parents house and they go for a walk in the mornings at 8am, and she was hoping to join them. I talked to her for about 15 minutes until 8, and then was thinking about going back to bed when Jesse called, wanting to know if Mom would be able to make it to the church meeting tonight to record what happend or something. By the time I finished talking to everyone on the phone, I was already so awake that I figured there was no point in trying to go back to bed, so I went and took a shower, had a little breakfast, and then got working on school. I didn't do any assignments for BlueSky yesterday because of my MCA, and so I got caught up on that, and then started working on today's as…

April 23, 2018The World is Ending! Today is the 23 of April... aka the day that Christian conspiracy theorists claim the world will end... I guess we'll find out soon, but I'm still going to do my school just in case. It was hard today getting back into the routine, but I got my college class almost done (all I have left is the final test which is worth 15 points, and all assignments are weighted the same) and then only 29 days left of school. I took a shower this morning, and then emailed my Math teacher telling him that I would not be able to attend the live session as I was taking my Reading MCA at MState in Detroit Lakes. Dad and I got there and were looking for room G114, when a lady asked us, "You're with BlueSky?" She pointed us in the right direction, and when I got to the room, there were like 15 kids from BlueSky that live in this area, including a good friend of Johnna's that I've met a few times before, which was really weird. The testing was s…

April 22, 2018Church & Bible Study Today I woke up to the noise of a rooster crowing right underneath my window... needless to say, I wasn't super thrilled. I went back to sleep, and then woke up around 8:15. Koby had already been awake for awhile, but was still in bed as well. We got ready for church and Koby got all his stuff packed, before going downstairs and having some French toast for breakfast. We took off for church, and I got the church calendar updated before Sunday school. After Sunday school, we had the normal service, during which Koby, Bradly, and I had to talk about our trip to Wisconsin last week (we were the only ones who went on the trip at church). Rhonda also gave us some details about VBS coming up this summer, and I got signed up to help with the drama again. After church, we went home and had a quick lunch of burritos and other leftovers, and then Dad, Koby, and I drove to Fargo to drop Koby off with his Mom, as they needed to go back to North Dakota tod…

April 21, 2018 Sleeping In Well, our day really technically started in a Catholic kid's driveway at 12:01 AM. We then continued and dropped off Scott and Cheri and their group, and then by the time Ben, Koby, and I got back to the church, I had almost fallen asleep. We got into Ben's truck, and drove over to his house. We got our beds setup while Ben took a shower. Once Ben was out, I hopped into the shower, and about 5 minutes in, the water turned really cold and stopped working. I was super tired and confused, so I just stood there staring at the shower head, wondering what had happend, and talking to Ben through the door. Eventually it started working again and I was able to finish my shower. I later found out that Ben had ran downstairs and turned off the water on me while I was in the shower. Koby and I watched a little bit of Tintin on Netflix before going to sleep around 1:30. I woke up about a quarter to 10, and we laid in our bed/chairs for awhile until it was late eno…

April 20, 2018 Hiding in Fargo Today started as any other day might, with me trying to catch up on school. I already had gotten almost 26 assignments in for the week, close to double the required. I worked on school until about noon, when I went upstairs and Grandpa stopped by. We talked for awhile, and Dad told us how he had been over at Antonsen's farm, and they had told them that Belfey sits at the top of their hill in his car, and every time one of their pet geese wanders into the road, drives as fast as he can to try and hit it. Then Curt showed up as well, and we were all visiting for a little while. Grandpa and Curt left after awhile, and we hung out at home until Grandpa came back at 2:30, when we went and dropped off Tevia at the school for her track meet, stopped by the bank for me to get money, where they have switched to a new banking system, and then he dropped me off at Ben's house. Ben wasn't home from work yet, so I settled down and watched Dr. Strange on Ne…

April 19, 2018 The Good News I woke up this morning at 7, and jumped out of bed ready to start the day. Well, it didn't quite happen like that, but pretty much. I went downstairs and had breakfast, and then got started on my large amount of school. I worked straight for almost four hours, and then went upstairs, where Mom made me make a salad, and then we had beef chunks on pasta for lunch. Afterwards, I went back downstairs and continued to work on school, getting almost all but a few assignments done, which I have to get done before tomorrow when I go to MYF at like 1pm. At 2:40ish, Grandpa came and picked us all up, and we went and dropped of Jana at Fran's for her painting lesson, and then dropped off Tevia at the school for track. We still had almost 45 minutes before I had to be at work, so we went to the post office so Grandpa go mail a letter, then we went to All in All and Grandpa got himself a coffee and a blue slushie for me. We went and inspected the Frazee Dam, whi…

April 18, 2018 Nursing Home Night Mom was working again today, so she took off to work around the same time that Tevia went to school. Dad made some eggs for breakfast, and then went about his business while Jana and I did our school work. After working for what seemed like days, I came upstairs and Dad and I went to get hay for the animals from Marvin Kratzke's farm. We got 20 squares and loaded them into the back of the pickup truck ($2.50/bale) and then went back to Frazee where Dad dropped me off at Jeremy's house. I downloaded a new software on my laptop that I want to try out called FreeWorship which is a song lyric program that should allow me to use seamless video backgrounds, an issue I was having with Powerpoint. Then I uploaded all of the many pictures I still had stored on my computer (about 500 from rally, Florida, and other things) and got those sorted on the cloud. I finally took off just a little bit after Jeremy left, and walked down to the store. I said hello …

April 17, 2018 Something Different... Because of my combination of spring fever and boredom, I've been looking for something new to do, but more on that later. I got up this morning, had breakfast and shaved, as I was growing a bit of facial hair again, and then started on school. Nana came over and took Tevia into town for lunch, and then at 2pm, Grandpa stopped by and said hello, and then did chapel with us. At 3pm, Mom took Tevia in for track, and then went over to Ruby's house, and that's when things got interesting. A little while before we went to Orlando, I got a Tekstar mic for my camera, and I've been wanting to use it, but didn't really know how to start. So today when Dad said we were going over to Grandpa and Nana's house, I decided to make a video about it. We were about to leave when Elmer and Mariam stopped by, so we talked to them for awhile, and then off to the races. We visited with Grandpa and Nana for awhile, and then as soon as we got home I…

April 16, 2018 Back to Normal... Today was weird, because everything seemed so normal and uninteresting after 8 days straight of exciting adventures... I feel like I should be relaxed but instead its almost the exact opposite where I just am looking for anything to go do. I woke up this morning and Mom had already left for work. I went downstairs to do my school work, and got it mostly done by about noon, and then just worked on the photos from the trip and making a video for church. I have a lot of stuff to do, and it's really hard to be limited by a 3Mbps download speed... (about .5 up) anyway, we burned a brush pile in the afternoon, and then some guy came and bought some chickens. Had dinner, and then got ready for bed. Mom came home around 10ish.

April 15, 2018 Blizzards in April I awoke this morning to Matthew kicking me and telling me that Ben said to get ready to go. I dragged myself out of my sleeping bag, and found that almost everyone else was already getting up, so I packed my stuff and we all made our way out to the van. We drove through the mildly falling snow to the church, where we messed around while waiting for the girls to get there so we could have breakfast. When they finally did, Ron had me say a prayer for the food, and then we ate, right after sorting out an issue where Shannon thought that Terry had forgotten a box of cereal at Dave's, when actually Terry had taken the cereal from Dave's kitchen and was eating while watching Formula 1 racing at 1:30 Am. Breakfast was really good, and then we went upstairs for the last session, which was about faith and the valley of dry bones. As soon as we were done with the session, we went back downstairs for lunch, and then had about an hour of talking followed …

April 14, 2018 Is the Bowling Alley more Expensive than a Theater? Ben woke us up sometime this morning, but I just went back to sleep until I actually had to get up. I was a little sore from sleeping on the floor, but that's a small price to pay for nothing. We got ready to go, and then went back to the church from Yo Handyman Dave's house. We got there around 9 AM, and breakfast was like a cheese egg hotdish thing and sausages or something. After breakfast, Chloe, Kylie, and I practiced for the morning worship, and then we did it, with me completely going blank on the chords for the last song, "Great Are You, Lord." Then Dave tried to trick us into taking a $20 bill from a giant rat trap, that was very real. Then he switched it out for a fake one and stuff so it was fine. After the morning session, which was Dave talking about stuff, we had some games before lunch, which involved blindfolding people and having them try to guess who someone was by only their voice. S…

April 13, 2018 Youth Group in Wisconsin I had set my alarm for 7am this morning, but something went wrong, so I didn't end up actually waking up till about 7:15 or so. As soon as I got up, I got to work on my leftover homework from the week, because if I didn't get a weekly of at least 15, then I'll get marked as absent, which would be bad. I got in the required attendance, and then finished packing as Grandpa was picking me up to drop me off at Frazee High School at 9:30. When he picked me up, we drove into Vergas to pick up Becca at her house, and then we hopped in the van behind the Frazee High School that Ben was driving. Koby, Chloe, Mya, and Gabby were already in there, and so we drove straight to the Frazee rest stop where we waited for Ron and Karri to come and meet us with the van from Detroit Lakes. When they finally got there, we switched up a little and drove to the DQ in Staples where we had lunch, and then got back in after picking up Matthew. I filled out the…

April 12, 2018 Going Home
We woke up early to see the sunrise over the ocean, and it was pretty cool. The sun didn't actually rise until 7:10ish so it wasn't super early, but it still felt early. We started packing, and got on the road pretty early as our plane was scheduled to depart at 1:05 and we were still two hours from Orlando. We started driving and went down to Saint Sebastian park, where we went out and took one last look at the ocean. There were a lot of cool birds that we saw, and they were very friendly. We got back in the car, and drove to Sixt car rental to return the Volkswagen Jetta with one stop along the way for drinks and $10 of gas. Once we got to the rental place, they must have known we were in a hurry so they put us on the shuttle right away and off to the airport we went. We talked to another family from England on the way, and they had very thick accents. We got to the airport, and went to the bathroom before going and checking in. There was a little c…

April 11, 2018 Jana's Birthday Today was a very special day.... Jana's 15th birthday. We started out the morning with Mom going to her confrence meeting, and us sleeping in for a little while longer. When we finally woke up, we only had an hour until it was time to check out. We quickly got packed, and tried to clean things up a little for Linda, the cleaning lady from Venezuela. We went down to the lobby and turned in our four room cards, and then went back over to the mall to try and do some school work. After awhile we figured the internet wasn't going to work to well, so we got ready to go pick up Mom, but then we found an arcade card with almost 900 points on it. We played a bunch of games and got some cotten candy for free, and then we went into the car. Mom was running a little late so we had to drive around the parking lot for awhile, but then she came out and we were on our way. After a stop for lunch at Chick-fil-a, we continued to the Holiday Inn at Vero Beach. W…

April 10, 2018 9am to 9:30pm
Today I tried sleeping in somewhat, but someone made a lot of noise on their way to conferences so I had some troubles sleeping. Dad got us up around 8 or so to get ready to be at Universal Studios right at 9am when it opened. Parking was $22 but we were happy to find out that it was full day parking, so if we had our ticket when we came back after lunch, we didn't have to pay again. We had full day passes and so we started on the right side of the park, and walked in almost right after it opened. We started with a Transformers 4D ride, which was super awesome. I think that 4D rides are probably the rides of the future, because the entire thing can be contained in a small building. We continued to walk around the park, going on different rides, most of them 4D rides, until we got to Diagon Alley, which was hidden behind a brick wall. As soon as we stepped in, it was like mind blown. It was literally like stepping right into the movie. We went on one of…

April 09, 2018 Wifi Issues Today was Monday, so that meant of course, that we had school, as Spring break was last week. Thanks to the last hurricane that hit Florida, the wifi in the hotel here is still very... it's not good. Most of the main areas have great wifi, but inside of the rooms, good luck. Like I said yesterday, I was able to get things to work by using my phone as a range extender, but the girls went over to the business center in the lobby. After awhile, I got a phone call on the room phone, saying that they couldn't get some stuff to work, so I packed up all my gear and trecked across the huge campus to where they were. By the time I got there, it was already fixed, so I went and stood outside and looked at a map just for fun. A lady passing must have thought I was lost, because she asked me if she could help me find anything. I just asked her if she knew a good place to work on a laptop, and she suggested the lounge in the mall (which is also a part of the hotel…

April 08, 2018 The Gulf of Mexico
We woke up this morning to one of the best continental breakfasts I've had in a long time; and by in a long time, I mean that because I haven't stayed in a hotel with breakfast in like almost a year. Maybe longer, I can't remember. Anyway, we all got up and made our way down to the breakfast (I think Mom went for a run before breakfast) and it was so good. I had a plate of eggs, sausages, hashbrowns, and a little donut thing that was amazing, and there was tons of other stuff too. After breakfast, we went back to the room and watched a DNR show for awhile. We got packed up, and started heading over to where there were supposedly natural springs and manatees, only to find out that there weren't any manatees. And you had to pay to see the springs. By this time it was almost 10:30, which was the time that the church we had chose to go to had its second service. It was called, "Gulf to Lake Church" and it was really cool and they …

April 07, 2018 Sunny Orlando   Today was the big day; taking off to Orlando. We got up this morning, but not until 8am, and didn't end up leaving till 9:30ish as there were some ideas going around that we had to leave our house at 7am for a 3:25pm flight. We finally had everyone happy with their luggage, and we took off. After a quick prayer, we got on Highway 10, with me driving. Mom wanted to stop in Clearwater, but ended up stopping in Motley at the gas station. Mom had forgotten to mail a letter as well, and so she was constantly trying to find a bluebox as we went, where she could mail the letter. After a lunch stop at Taco Bell in Saint Cloud, we finally got into the cities (I was no longer driving after lunch) and parked on the Purple ramp, on the top floor. On the way down, we rode in the elevator with another family that was flying to Orlando, in the same plane! We went and checked in, and the very nice lady even changed our tickets so that we could all sit in the same row…

April 06, 2018 Packing
We leave for Orlando tomorrow at about 9:30 and I couldn't be more excited! Our plane doesn't fly out till around 3pm, but because we're flying out of MSP we need to leave our house about 6 hours early (we're still leaving before then however). The best part of this is when I told Chloe (a friend of mine) that I was going to Orlando, she just laughed and told me she wasn't that gullible anymore.    We started out the morning with homework, and I did a big long chemistry lab, but it wasn't actually as bad as I thought it would be. Then Dad gave me a haircut and I took a shower, and then at 12:45 we went in to meet with Potvin, the principal at FHS to see about getting me enrolled for next year. She said we should wait until the school year is out, and then come talk to them ASAP. After our meeting, I went over to Jeremy and Sherri's so that I could get Photoshop and Lightroom downloaded before the trip, as I need to be able to do ed…

April 05, 2018 Mail Day  Today it was still snowing. WHY IS IT STILL SNOWING ON APRIL 5TH?!?!?! Anyway, I did a lot today, and also got a lot of mail and stuff. I am still a day ahead in school, so I didn't have any to do, but I'll probably work ahead sometime tonight or tomorrow so that I don't have as much while in Orlando; I can't believe we're already leaving on Saturday (2 days) and I'm super excited. It really shows how much of an advantage I have over other people, as I have friends who have hardly ever left Frazee, and here I am with a frequent flyer card. Anyway, my first order of business was to fix my laptop (again). I love using Linux ever since Chris helped me install it, but you can't run Lightroom on Linux (at least not easily) and so I reinstalled Windows, and I'll hopefully duel-boot when we get back from Orlando. It took a few hours of Googling and experimenting and formatting drives and messing with different software. We only get 3Mbp…

April 04, 2018 Youth Group Night Today Mom worked, which is always a nice change of routine, as it gets boring when everything is exactly the same everyday. I already had all my school for the day finished, and so I just watched photography videos on YouTube, and chilled until Dad and Tevia came home. Around noon, Grandpa and Nana stopped by, and then Dad and I took the truck and went and got 20 haybales. Right after we got the hay, Dad dropped me off at Jeremy's house, where I abused his very fast wifi, and downloaded Windows and Deepin OS, as I plan on replacing Ubuntu with a duel-boot of the two if at all possible. After I was done with his wifi, Jeremy dropped me off at the grocery store on his way to work, where I helped an old lady carry out her groceries, and then emptied my bucket that I had at the register, in which there was more than 12 dollars! I then walked down to the post office, and got a package from them, which was a book I had made about our trip to Puerto Rico i…

April 03, 2018 I Can't Breathe and other Survival Stories Today was an average day, except I've had a plugged nose from either a cold or allergies, and so I haven't been able to breathe out of my nose all day. It's been rough... I got up this morning and walked downstairs and messed around on my computer, doing some homework and the sort until Chem class at 11. After class, I took a shower and had lunch, and then when Grandpa came and took Tevia to track, I went with him and we went to Walmart, where I got the frames in my glasses updated, so now I can see clearly again, and they have a blue light filter, which should be better for my eyes when I'm using my phone or computer. Jana made spaghetti for dinner, and then I practiced guitar afterwards, and then went to bed. Tomorrow will hopefully be more interesting.

April 02, 2018 More Snow...
Well, we woke up this morning to, you guessed it, more snow. Not just a tiny bit either, but a whole few inches. Thankfully we leave for Orlando on Saturday morning, so we won't have to be around this snow much longer, and maybe it'll be gone when we get home. We had school this morning, and then I just messed around and stuff until after lunch. I finally got all of Bryant and Alyssa's photos edited, and they don't look horrible, which is probably good. I took a shower after lunch, and then Grandpa came over and took me to work. I was only supposed to work until 7, but Manson had broke his truck somehow, and could only drive 35mph, so they asked me to stay until 8pm, which I did. I had to mark down all the Easter candy, going through each 45 count box of camemal eggs, and marking them each at 50 cents... took about 2 hours. Had a taco salad for dinner when I got home, then went to bed. One interesting thing that happened when I was at work, w…

April 1st, 2018 Happy Easter!
My alarm went off at 5:30 AM to "Good Morning" by Mandisa. I was able to roll out of bed, even though I really didn't want to, and was able to drag myself to the bathroom to get washed up. I went downstairs, where Dad was just taking off to start the fire at Camp, and we started packing things into the other car. We got everything loaded up and were on our way to camp around 6:07. We got everything setup, and then Ben, Matthew, and Josh showed up to help, as well as Kendra and Katija. It wasn't long before the Swiers, Birkys, and Krauses showed up, and then that was all (we probably didn't need 4 dozen donuts but we brought them to church). The service went very well, and we sang some hymns, as well as ending with The Easter Song by Keith Green. It was super awesome even if my sunrise calculations were slightly off, and so the sun didn't actually peek over the trees until 2 minutes after we had ended. Jesse had asked me a few week…
